Hello there,

All of us here at Acadian Hearing Services welcome you to another issue of our newsletter.

It’s the month of love!

Communication is the key to the success of any relationship. Without it, it doesn’t take much for the relationship to start to fray. When our health takes a knock, or something goes wrong with our bodies, it is easy not to want to burden our loved one or friends with concerns.

Unfortunately, untreated health problems can lead to depression. When you keep your concerns to yourself or even ignore them, you may appear withdrawn to your loved ones, and your communication may suffer as a result.

Conversations can often come to an abrupt end when either one of you is continually saying “what?” or asking the other person to repeat themselves. It doesn’t take long before this tedious back, and forth of miscommunication begins to add strain to your relationships.

Honesty, along with a hearing test, could save your relationship. If you have noticed issues with your or a loved one’s hearing, then speak up! Having that support can help get you through almost anything.

A visit to our hearing center is the first step on your journey to better hearing. Our friendly and caring team will talk to you about your concerns, test your hearing, and discuss the options available to you.

Give your loved one the gift of better hearing this Valentine’s Day by booking an appointment with us. One of the most fulfilling aspects of our work is getting to see the joy on someone’s face when they get to hear the voice of their loved one once again.

Hearing Health Tip

If you’re asking yourself the question, “Do I need a hearing test?” you might be worried that you have a hearing loss, or you may be the kind of person who likes to get ahead of the game when it comes to potential health issues. Either way, it is essential to get your hearing checked by an audiologist.

We’ve got a handy acronym “H.E.A.R.I.T.” to help if you think you may have a hearing loss:

is for hard to hear what people are saying.
is for ears that feel blocked.
is for avoiding social situations.
 is for repetition.
is for irritability.
is for tiredness, especially after conversations.

If three or more of these signs are true for you, then you may have a hearing loss.
