Southwest Louisiana’s Most Trusted Team of Audiologists in Lake Charles

The Great Fire of 1910 left a path of destruction that would have ended most cities , but thanks to the strong spirit of our community, we rebuilt our city and have taken the lead in becoming a major industrial, cultural, and educational center in Louisiana. Lake Charles plays a major role in petrochemical refining as well as aeronautics and the production of parts for nuclear power plants.

As a community, Lake Charles is essential to the economic and cultural health of Louisiana and the entire nation. Similarly, your hearing plays a major role in your overall health, so it is essential that you seek the help of an audiologist rather than allow hearing loss to reduce your quality of life.

In 1976, when audiologist and Major Steven W. Morris completed his service in the US Army, he established Acadian Hearing & Speech Services in Lake Charles. We built on that already solid foundation by establishing our reputation as the most trusted team of audiologists not only in Southwest Louisiana, but all across the state.

Our belief that nobody should have to live with hearing loss led to the development of our Acadian Gives Back program, which provides those in need with professionally refurbished hearing devices that have been donated by our incredible patients. Along with our comprehensive hearing assessments, our renowned expertise in balance and vestibular disorders, and advanced technology hearing aids, our team of audiologists make it possible for those with hearing loss in Lake Charles and surrounding communities to reconnect with their family, friends, and community.

Best-in-Class Hearing Aid Technology to Fit Your Independent Lifestyle

When you think of hearing aids, the bulky, frustrating devices your parents or grandparents used to wear probably come to mind. However, today’s hearing aid technology is nothing like it was even a decade ago.

Smaller, lighter, nearly invisible, much more powerful, and user-friendly are all features of modern hearing aid technology. In addition to greater hearing clarity, even in noisy environments, our best-in-class hearing aid technology includes connectivity options that allow you to link your hearing aid to your smartphone, laptop, PC, and other digital devices for an enhanced hearing experience.

With a wide range of styles, colors, and levels of technology available, Southwest Louisiana has access to hearing aids that fit your hearing needs, personal preferences, and independent lifestyle.

Your Child’s Hearing Care Is a Priority for Acadian Hearing

According to the CDC, hearing loss prevalence in US infants in 2019 showed 1.7 per 1,000 babies were born with hearing loss, while the state of Louisiana sees a prevalence of 2 per 1,000.

Because infant hearing loss has a significant negative impact on speech and language development, the state of Louisiana mandates screening infants for hearing loss. Your hospital typically schedules a diagnostic ABR/DPOAE examination with an audiologist from Acadian Hearing and Speech Services after your baby is born, but many of our clients come to us from states where early screening is not common.

Our concern for infant and childhood hearing loss has led to the development of one of the state’s leading infant testing centers for hearing loss, helping us detect hearing loss challenges before the age of six months in order to provide successful hearing care interventions that limit the impact of hearing loss on your child’s development.
