The COVID-19 pandemic has rapidly changed how people can go about their daily lives. Stay at home orders and social distancing rules mean that travel is extremely limited and strongly discouraged.
These restrictions have created a new host of challenges for people such as accessing hearing healthcare services.
Acadian Hearing Services values our patients and so, to ensure minimal disruption during these challenging times and beyond, we are pleased to step up to the challenge and introduce our Tele-Audiology service – Access Audiology.
A Look at Access Audiology
Access Audiology is Acadian Hearing Service’s own take on ‘Tele-Audiology’ – a fast and convenient way to access professional audiological care from your home. Recognized and approved by the State of Louisiana, patients can receive the same level of advice and expert care for their hearing challenges as they would when visiting our office.
Using their smartphone, tablet, or computer, patients can converse with an audiologist face to face during a video call. While this technology addresses the challenges our society currently faces, we expect it to also become a popular option with patients who face mobility issues or travel limitations due to health issues long after the current crisis is resolved.
The service allows residents of Southwestern Louisiana to engage with an audiologist and discuss their hearing-related questions or concerns. Current patients and non-patients are both welcome to use the service.
Patients with hearing aids can also receive assistance with caring for their devices, and those with the latest technology can even have their hearing aids adjusted remotely during their appointment.
How to Access the Service
An Access Audiology appointment lasts for approximately 15 minutes and it is completely complimentary and obligation-free. To take advantage of this unique service, simply click here and complete the short form and a member of the Acadian Hearing Services team will phone you back to confirm your appointment.
