Kinder, LA

Kinder, LA was named for a Union soldier, James A. Kinder, who moved south, homesteaded a Soldier’s Land Grant, and set up a general store. The arrival of the Watkins, Kansas City, and Gulf Railroad in Kinder gave our community a boost that continues today.
