Siemens Hearing Aids
Werner von Siemens began his career as a manufacturer of telegraphic instruments but became an innovator in hearing devices almost 150 years ago when he developed an amplified telephone receiver in 1877. Siemens produced their first BTE (behind-the-ear) instrument in 1959 and then the first (ITE) in-the-ear hearing aid in 1966.
In 2015, Siemens became Sivantos, producing Signia hearing aids using Siemens’ technology while continuing to manufacture their own Siemens brand hearing aids. The Sivantos Group merged with Widex to create WS Audiology in 2019, making Siemens a part of the world’s largest hearing aid manufacturing group.
Advanced Hearing Solutions from Siemens
Siemens is the innovative developer of the Binax platform, which has the capacity to simulate binaural hearing using an eight-microphone network (four per hearing aid) that connect wirelessly to share and balance audio data using e2e (ear to ear) technology.
Their Binax concept was subjected to independent testing by the University of Northern Colorado and the Hearing Center of the University of Oldenburg after its release. Both institutions reported that Binax is capable of producing sound that allows Siemens hearing instrument wearers an advantage over those with normal hearing in a noisy environment.
Other Binax platform features designed to enhance the quality and clarity of your hearing experience include Narrow Directionality, Spatial Speech Focus, eWindScreen binaural, and High-Definition Sound Resolution.
