Sivantos Hearing Aids

Werner von Siemens, a manufacturer of telegraphic instruments, became a pioneer in hearing aid technology when he built a telephone receiver with a horseshoe magnet that helped amplify voice signals and improve voice clarity. His innovation laid the foundation for Sivantos hearing aids.

Acquired by Sivantos, the first Siemens hearing device, the Phonophor, was produced before World War II, while the Auriculette behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing device made with small lightweight components in a single unit was produced in 1959. The Siretta 339 was the first device worn entirely in-the-ear (ITE). Building on the success of these instruments, Sivantos was able to capture European, North American, and Asian markets prior to the 1970s.

Today, Signia hearing aids using Siemens’ technology, such as Binax, have accelerated the development of smart products and applications that provide practical benefits and convenience to individuals with hearing loss. The merger of Sivantos with Widex in 2019 established WS Audiology, providing the basis to become a world leader in hearing aid technology along with large-scale manufacturing capabilities to produce wide variety of hearing instruments under various brand names.

E2e wireless technology incorporated into the Binax platform used in Sivantos hearing devices helps simulate binaural hearing using an eight-microphone network (four per hearing aid) able to wirelessly share and balance audio data between two hearing aids. Additional features include Narrow Directionality, Spatial Speech Focus, eWindScreen binaural, and High-Definition Sound Resolution, which are built into Sivantos hearing instruments to help improve sound quality and speech clarity to improve your hearing aids experience.

Various RIC, CIC, and BTE devices operating on the OVP platform come in instant fit and custom formed configurations that include Bluetooth streaming. In addition, Sivantos produces specialized devices to address the needs of individuals with one-sided hearing loss.

Using smartphone connectivity with the TeleCare app makes it possible for you to connect with your hearing care provider from a remote location in order to receive ongoing counseling and support without the need for an in-office consultation.
